Pacino & Tarantino - Together At Last!

Al Pacino has signed on to Tarantino’s rapidly casting up Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He will play the agent of Leonard DiCaprio’s fading TV star. QT is due to start shooting in the next few week so has been having a bit of a casting frenzy in recent days. Despite saying the movie is more about the year 1969 than the Manson-Tate murders that helped define that year, his latest casting largely seems geared towards Manson and his Family – Emile Hirsch is playing celeb hairstylist Jay Sebring, one of the victims killed by the attackers at that house on Cielo Drive, August 8th of that year, whilst Dakota Fanning is on as Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, a Manson Family member who wasn’t there on the night but later went on to try and assassinate President Gerald Ford.

And finally someone has had to good sense to cast looky-likey Damien Lewis as Steve McQueen – who was invited to go party at Cielo Drive that infamous night, but was too busy hitting on a girl elsewhere in Hollywood.

And of course the film is scheduled to open August 9 next year, the 50th anniversary of the killings. So no Quentin, this clearly isn’t your Manson movie.
