Off The Boyle

In rather depressing news today, Danny Boyle has walked as director of Bond 25.

The EON Twitter account tweeted the news - "Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25,"

Which means Underworld is probably no longer in the running for the next Bond theme – but we have no idea if they’re still running with the screenplay Boyle has been working on with Trainspotting doctor John Hodge. The director has form of course with franchise movies, having walked away from the chance to direct Alien 3 many years ago. Either way, this is not good news as we would’ve loved to see a Bond movie with a buzzing edge and a trance score.

Who will replace him – and if the production is still on target to shoot later this year – remains to be seen.

Hey Barbara, Michael - James Gunn's not doing anything...
