From Winterfell To A Galaxy Far, Far Away
“David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today. Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”
This is what Lucasfilm’s Kathy Kennedy had to say about the announcement that Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D B Weiss are to write and produce a new Star Wars trilogy. Now, this is not to be confused with the Skywalker-closing Episode 9 that JJ is working on, or the other new SW trilogy that Rian Johnson is behind. It’s yet ANOTHER trilogy. And the GOT boys are pretty happy about it. This is what they had to say - “In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we’ve been dreaming of it ever since. We are honoured by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is complete.”
It looks like Star Wars really is forever. It’s certainly going to be going on forever.
