Judy, Judy, Judy...
Just in case you thought Renee Zellweger only does Bridget Jones movies these days (or has possibly been in “retirement” alongside her friend Cameron Diaz), here she is laying waste to those rumours in the first pic of her as legendary Judy Garland, at the less than legendary tail end of her career. Judy, the movie, finds Judy, the lady, in the late ‘60s yearning for former glories as she plays a series of shows in London. Zellweger sure looks the part in what it is only fair to call a potential big bit of Oscar bait.
Theatre director Rupert Goold is directing, with a supporting cast that boasts Rufus Sewell, Finn Whittrock, Jessie Buckley and Michael Gambon as legendary impresario Bernard Delfont.
Expect to see Judy just in time for awards season later in the year
