So, Is It All Over Then?

Whilst we still believe The Revenant is the favourite to win this year’s big BAFTA, the chances or Inarritu pulling off an Oscar double took a serious hit last night as The Big Short bagged the prestigious PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck award for best film. And the PGA have quite a good track record for predicting the eventual Oscar winner – they’ve matched 19 out of the last 26 winners, and haven’t been out of synch with the Academy since 2006. So, time to go home Spotlight? (To think the director of Step Brothers might well be about to win an Oscar. Who saw that coming?)

Elsewhere at the PGAs, Inside Out continued its road to Best Animation glory and Amy won once again as best doc.

The DGA is the next (and final) test...
