London Critics Shine Spotlight On...No, Not That One! |
New day, new awards nominations And the London Critics’ Circle have favoured Carol with seven – including Film Of The Year and, probably cancelling out nods for both Blanchett and Mara in the Actress Of The Year category. But the London lot were keen to spread the wealth with six for 45 Years, and then five each for Fury Road, The Revenant and the so far much neglected Steve Jobs. Brooklyn failed to land a Film Of The Year nom (but got British Film), Tom Hardy is up for everything he can possibly be up for, The Big Short wasn’t a player due to UK release dates, Spotlight wasn’t a major player (but then again the UK has been aware of paedo priests for quite some time now – so no big news here!), and Paul Dano got some more traction in the leading actor position. The London Critics’ Circle announce their winners on January 17 - main noms below -
