Song Of The Week - The Flaming Lips - Bowie Tribute

Now The Flaming Lips know a thing or two about great pop songs – Do You Realise? and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots to name but two. (And thank you Terry Gilliam for alerting our ears to those.)

Last Friday, they decided to honour another man who knew a thing or two about pop music during their concert in Aspen with not one, not two but EIGHT Bowie covers – Space Oddity, Life On Mars, Five Years, Ziggy Stardust, Fame, The Man Who Sold The World, Golden Years and Ashes To Ashes. Wowzers! Their Five Years may not have been up to snuff, but any band that has a pop at Ashes To Ashes – well, you have to admire the balls on that.

(You know what would've been cool though? David Bowie on James Corden's Karaoke Carpool. We can dream, can't we?)

Hit “play” already.
