Max Wins Big - On Both Sides Of The Pond

The power of Max just kept on growing last night as the London Critics Circle named it their Film of The Year, whilst over the way in the US at the Critics Choice Awards it was named Best Action Movie, with Hardy and Theron picking up gongs for Actor And Actress in said Action Movie category. George Miller was named Best Director on both sides of the pond.

As to be expected, the London crits lauded many of their own, with 45 Years receiving the love it curiously lacked at the BAFTAs, as both Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay walked off with Best Actress and Actor. Mark Rylance (with no Stallone to KO) was named Best Supporting Actor, whilst Kate Winslett beat out Alicia Vikander for Supporting Actress. Tom Hardy was named British/Irish Actor Of The Year for a whole bunch of things, whilst Saoirse Ronan won the female equivalent for just Brooklyn. Maisie Williams was named Young British/Irish Performer for The Falling.
