It's About Time
H G Wells is all the rage it would appear. Next year, the BBC are bringing The War Of The Worlds to the small screen in mini series form as a sci fi costume drama, the first time the book has been adapted in its original Victorian period. And now comes word that It main man Andy Muschietti is set to write and direct a new take on Wells’ The Time Machine, with Leo DiCaprio producing.
The novel has been brought to the big screen twice before – George Pal’s classic take in 1960, and the Guy Pearce starring remake in 2002, a film that was a good deal of fun, despite a botched third act and an insane Jeremy Irons.
Given that Muschietti was also announced as the director of a live action version of anime classic Attack On Titan, a few days back, we’ll have to see which movie he opts to make his follow up to next year’s It Chapter Two.
