Moonlight - Now Winning On Both Sides Of The World

The LA Film Critics and the British Indies both announced their winners over the weekend, and La La Land became a runner up in la la land itself, with Moonlight eclipsing all comers, landing Best Picture, Director and Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali.

Isabelle Huppert continued her potential Emma Stone upset, whilst Adam Driver finally broke Casey Affleck’s streak with his bus driving poet Patterson. Manchester By The Sea was also left in runner up position in Screenplay and Supporting Actress.

Meanwhile over in the UK, Moonlight continued its streak by landing Best International Indie at the British Independent Film Awards, where American Honey pipped I, Daniel Blake to the top honours with Film, Director and Actress.

Loach’s state of the nation address did still manage to pick up acting gongs for both its leads however.
