Hello, Good Evening And Welcome To The Foregone Concluson

Nothing to see here people, keep walking.

As expected by – just about everyone – Damien Chazelle happily walked away with the Directors Guild’s top honour last night for the unstoppable La La Land. Like it was ever going to go any other way in this very significant precursor to all things Oscar.

The recently established First Time Director nod went to Lion’s Garth Davis, at least spreading some of the wealth around.

O.J: Made In America picked up Best Doc, whilst over at the animated Annie Awards, Zootopia also helped bring the upcoming Oscar ceremony to a case of “the bleeding obvious” by walking away with six, including Best Animated Feature.

Oh well.
