We Should Coco

It’ll be interesting to see just how far along Donald’s Mexican wall is when Pixar’s Mexican movie arrives in November. This is the first look at Coco, a film based on that country’s Day of the Dead celebration – or Dia de los Muertos to give it its real name, and the film’s original title (until Disney realised they couldn’t copyright it for merch purposes, so went with the eminently more trade-markable Coco instead.)

Toy Story 3’s Lee Unkrich is directing, with young Anthony Gonzalez providing the voice of 12 year old Miguel, whose obsession with a dead guitarist leads him on a journey to the Land of the Dead. Gael Garcia Bernal and Benjamin Bratt also lend their tonsils. Coco marks Pixar’s first non-sequel since The Good Dinosaur a couple of years back. and opens November 22
